*The woman saith to him: Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers adored on this mountain, and you say, that at Jerusalem is the place where men must adore. Jesus saith to her: Woman, believe me, that the hour cometh, when you shall neither on this mountain, not in Jerusalem, adore the Father. You adore that which you know not: we adore that which we know; for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true adorers shall adore the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father also seeketh such to adore him. God is a spirit; and they that adore him, must adore him in spirit and in truth. Glory be to God forever.

قَالَتْ لَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ: "يَا سَيِّدي، أرَى أنكَ نَبِيٌّ! آباؤُنَا سَجَدُوا عَلَى هذَا الْجَبَلِ، وَأنْتُمْ تَقُولُونَ إنَّ مَوْضِعَ السّجُودِ في أورُشَلِيمَ، الْمَوْضِعَ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي أنْ يُسْجَدَ فِيهِ". قَالَ لَهَا يَسُوعُ: "يَا امْرَأةُ، صَدِّقِينِي أنهُ تَأتِي سَاعَةٌ، حتَّى أنهُ لا في هذَا الْجَبَلِ، وَلا في أُورُشَلِيمَ يُسْجَدُ للآبِ. أنْتُمْ تَسْجُدُونَ لِلَّذِي لا تَعْرِفُونَهُ. أمَّا نَحْنُ فَنَسْجُدُ لِلَّذِي نَعْرِفُهُ. لأنَّ الْخَلاَصَ هُوَ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ. وَلكِنْ سَتَأتِي سَاعَةٌ، وَهيَ الآنَ، حِينَ السَّاجِدُونَ الْحَقِيقِيُّونَ يَسْجُدُونَ لِلآبِ بِالرُّوحِ وَالْحَقِّ، لأنَّ الآبَ أيْضاً يَطْلُبُ مِثْلَ هؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ يَسْجُدُونَ لَهُ. اللَّهُ رُوحٌ هُوَ. وَالَّذِينَ يَسْجُدُونَ لَهُ يَجِبُ أنْ يَسْجُدُوا بِالرُّوحِ وَالْحَقِّ". وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him, may not perish; but may have life everlasting. For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting. For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world, but that the world may be saved by him. He that believeth in him is not judged. But he that doth not believe, is already judged: because he believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment: because the light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light: for their works were evil. For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved. But he that doth truth, cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest, because they are done in God. Glory be to God forever.

*See what a letter I have written to you with my own hand. For as many as desire to please in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer the persecution of the cross of Christ. For neither they themselves who are circumcised, keep the law; but they will have you to be circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And whosoever shall follow this rule, peace on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. From henceforth let no man be troublesome to me; for I bear the marks of the Lord Jesus in my body. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen. The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.

*Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy hath regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that can not fade, reserved in heaven for you, Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein you shall greatly rejoice, if now you must be for a little time made sorrowful in divers temptations: That the trial of your faith (much more precious than gold which is tried by the fire) may be found unto praise and glory and honour at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, you love: in whom also now, though you see him not, you believe: and believing shall rejoice with joy unspeakable and glorified; Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and diligently searched, who prophesied of the grace to come in you. Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them did signify: when it foretold those sufferings that are in Christ, and the glories that should follow: To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you they ministered those things which are now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, the Holy Ghost being sent down from heaven, on whom the angels desire to look. Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Amen.

مُبَارَكٌ اللَّهُ أَبو رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، الَّذِي بِكَثْرَةِ رَحْمَتِهِ وَلَدَنَا ثَانِيَةً لِرَجَاءٍ حَيٍّ، بِقِيَامَةِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأمْوَاتِ، لِلمِيرَاثِ الَّذِي لا يَبْلَى وَلاَ يَتَدَنَّسُ وَلاَ يَضْمَحِلُّ، مَحْفُوظٌ لَكُمْ في السَّمَوَاتِ، أيهَا الْمَحْرُوسُونَ بِقُوَّةِ اللَّهِ، بِالإيمَانِ، لِلخَلاَصِ الْمُسْتَعَدِّ أنْ يُعْلَنَ في الزَّمَنِ الأخِيرِ. الَّذِي بِهِ تَبْتَهِجُونَ الآنَ يَسِيراً، وَإنْ كَانَ يَجِبُ أنْ تَتَألَّمُوا بِتَجَارِبَ مُتَنَوِّعَةٍ، لِكَيْ تَكُونَ صَفْوَةُ إيمَانِكُمْ كَرِيمَةً، أفْضَلَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ الفَانِي، الْمُجَرَّبِ بِالنَّارِ، لِتُوجَدُوا بِفَخْرٍ وَمَجْدٍ وَكَرَامَةٍ عِنْدَ اسْتِعْلاَنِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، ذَاكَ الَّذِي وَإنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفُوهُ تُحِبُّونَهُ. هذَا الَّذِي الآنَ لَمْ تَرَوْهُ وَآمَنْتُمْ بِهِ، فَتَهَلَّلُوا بِفَرَحٍ لا يُنْطَقُ بِهِ وَمُمَجَّدٍ، نَائِلِينَ غَايَةَ إيمَانِكُمْ خَلاَصَ أنْفُسِكُمْ. لأنهُ مِنْ أجْلِ هذَا الْخَلاَصِ قَدْ طَلَبَ الأنبِيَاءُ وَفَتَّشُوا، الَّذِينَ تَنبَّأُوا عَنِ النِّعْمَةِ التي صَارَتْ فِيكُمْ، وَبَحَثُوا عَنِ الزَّمَنِ الَّذِي تَكَلَّمَ فيهِ رُوحُ الْمَسِيحِ فيهِمْ. إذْ سَبَقَ فَشَهِدَ عَلَى آلامِ الْمَسِيحِ، وَالأمْجَادِ الآتِيَةِ بَعْدَهَا. الَّذِينَ أُعْلِنَ لَهُمْ أنَّهُمْ لَيْسَ لأنْفُسِهِمْ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ، بَلْ جَعَلُوا نُفُوسَهُمْ لَكُمْ خُدَّامَاً بِهذِهِ الأمُورِ التِي أُخْبِرْتُمْ بِهَا أنْتُمُ الآنَ، بِوَاسِطَةِ الَّذِينَ بَشَّرُوكُمْ بِالرُّوحِ القُدُسِ الْمُرْسَلِ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ. التِي تَشْتَهِي الْمَلاَئِكَةُ أنْ تَطَّلِعَ عَلَيْهَا. لا تُحِبُّوا العَالَمَ ولا الأشْيَاءَ التي في العَالَمِ، لأنَّ العَالَمَ يمْضِي وَشَهْوَتُهُ مَعَهُ، وأمَّا مَنْ يَعملُ مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ فإنه يَثْبُتُ إلى الأبدِ. آمين.

*Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them: Ye princes of the people, and ancients, hear: If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he hath been made whole: Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him this man standeth here before you whole. This is the stone which was rejected by you the builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved. Now seeing the constancy of Peter and of John, understanding that they were illiterate and ignorant men, they wondered; and they knew them that they had been with Jesus. Seeing the man also who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But they commanded them to go aside out of the council; and they conferred among themselves, Saying: What shall we do to these men? for indeed a known miracle hath been done by them, to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: it is manifest, and we cannot deny it. But that it may be no farther spread among the people, let us threaten them that they speak no more in this name to any man. And calling them, they charged them not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus. The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God. Amen.

حِينَئِذٍ امْتَلأَ بُطْرُسُ مِنَ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: "يَا رُؤَسَاءَ الشَّعْبِ وَالشُّيُوخَ، إنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ اليَوْمَ نُدَانُ لِعَمَلٍ حَسنٍ إلَى إنْسانٍ ضَعِيفٍ، بِمَاذَا شُفِيَ هذَا، فَلْيَكُنْ الأمْرُ ظَاهراً عِنْدَ جَمِيعِكُمْ وَجَمِيعِ شَعْبِ إسْرَائِيلَ، أنهُ بِاسْمِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ النَّاصِرِيِّ، هذَا الَّذِي صَلَبْتُمُوهُ، هذَا الَّذِي أقَامَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الأمْوَاتِ، بِذَلِكَ وَقَفَ هذَا أمَامَكُمْ صَحِيحَاً. هذَا هُوَ: الْحَجَرُ الَّذِي رُذِلَ مِنْكُمْ أيهَا البَنَّاؤُونَ، وَهذَا صَارَ رَأساً للزَّاوِيَةِ. وَلَيْسَ بِأحَدٍ غَيْرِهِ الْخَلاَصُ. وَلا اسْمٌ آخَرُ تَحْتَ السَّمَاءِ، قَدْ أُعْطِيَ للنَّاسِ، الَّذِي بِهِ يَنْبَغِي أنْ يَخْلُصوا". وَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا مُجَاهَرةَ بُطْرُسَ وَيُوحَنَّا، وَعَلِمُوا أنهُمَا رَجُلانِ لا يَعْرِفَانِ الكتابةَ وَأنهُمَا عَامِّيَّانِ، تَعَجَّبُوا. وَكَانُوا يَعْرِفُونَهُمَا أنهُمَا كَانا مَعَ يَسوعَ. وَإذْ كَانُوا يَنْظُرُونَ الإنْسَانَ الآخَرَ الَّذِي شُفِيَ وَاقِفاً مَعَهُمَا، لَمْ يُمْكِنْهُمْ أنْ يُنَاقِضُوا بِشَيءٍ. فَأمَرُوا أنْ يُخْرِجُوهُما خَارجَ الْمَجْمَعِ، وَكَانُوا يَتَفَاوَضُونَ مَعَ بَعضِهمْ بَعْضَاً قَائِلينَ: "مَاذا نَصْنَعُ بِهذَيْنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ؟ لأنَّ الآيةَ التي جَرَتْ بِأيْدِيهِمَا ظَاهِرَةٌ، وَقَدْ عَلِمَها كُلُّ الَّذِينَ يَسْكُنُونَ أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَلا نَقْدِرُ أنْ نُنْكِرَ. وَلكِنْ لِئَلاَّ يَشِيعَ الأمْرُ بِزيادةٍ في الشَّعْبِ، لِنُهَدِّدْهُمَا أنْ لا يُكَلِّمَا أحَداً مِنَ النَّاسِ بِهذَا الاسْمِ". فَاسْتَدْعَوْهُمَا وَأوْصَوْهُمَا أنْ لا يَنْطِقَا الْبَتَّةَ،وَلا يُعَلِّمَا بِاسْمِ يَسُوعَ. لَمْ تَزَلْ كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ تَنْمُو وتَكْثُرُ وتَعْتَزُّ وتَثْبُتُ، في بِيعَةِ اللَّهِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ. آمين.

*And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, that you also have seen me, and you believe not. All that the Father giveth to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will not cast out. Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me. Now this is the will of the Father who sent me: that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing; but should raise it up again in the last day. And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth in him, may have life everlasting, and I will raise him up in the last day. The Jews therefore murmured at him, because he had said: I am the living bread which came down from heaven. And they said: Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered, and said to them: Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him; and I will raise him up in the last day. It is written in the prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard of the Father, and hath learned, cometh to me. Not that any man hath seen the Father; but he who is of God, he hath seen the Father. Glory be to God forever.

فَقَالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ: "أَنا هُوَ خُبْزُ الْحَيَاةِ. مَنْ يَأتِي إلَيَّ فَلاَ يَجُوعُ، وَمَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِي فَلاَ يَعْطَشُ إلَى الأبدِ. وَلَكِنِّي قُلْتُ لَكُمْ: إنَّكُمْ رَأيْتُمُونِي، وَلَمْ تُؤْمِنوا. كُلُّ مَنْ أَعْطَانِيهِ أبي فَإلَيَّ يُقْبِلُ، وَمَنْ يُقْبِلْ إلَيَّ لا أَطْرَحْهُ خَارِجَاً. لأني قَدْ نَزَلْتُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، لَيْسَ لِكَيْ أَعْمَلَ إرَادَتِي، بَلْ إرَادَةَ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي. وَهَذِهِ هِيَ إرَادةُ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي: أنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ أَعْطَانِي لا أُهْلِكُ أحَداً مِنهُ، بَلْ أُقِيمُهُ في اليَوْمِ الأخِيرِ. لأنَّ هَذِهِ هِيَ إرَادَةُ أبِي: أنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ يَرَى الاِبْنَ وَيُؤْمِنُ بِهِ تَكُونُ لَهُ حَيَاةٌ أبدِيَّةٌ، وَأَنا أُقِيمُهُ في اليَوْمِ الأخِيرِ". فَكَانَ اليَهُودُ يَتَذَمَّرُونَ عَلَيْهِ لأنهُ قَالَ: "أَنا هُوَ الْخُبْزُ الَّذِي نَزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ". وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ: "ألَيْسَ هَذَا هُوَ يَسُوعَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ، هَذَا الَّذِي نَحْنُ عَارِفُونَ بِأبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ؟ فَكَيْفَ يَقُولُ الآنَ: إنِّي نَزَلْتُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ؟". أجَابَ يَسُوعُ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: "لا تَتَذَمَّرُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ. لا يَسْتَطِيعُ أحَدٌ أنْ يَأتِيَ إلَيَّ إنْ لَمْ يَجْذِبْهُ إلَيَّ الآبُ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَنِي، وَأَنا أُقِيمُهُ في اليَوْمِ الأخِيرِ. فَإنَّهُ مَكْتُوبٌ في الأنْبِيَاءِ: وَيَكُونُ الْجَمِيعُ مُتَعَلِّمِينَ مِنَ اللَّهِ. فَكُلُّ مَنْ سَمِعَ مِنْ أبِي وَتَعَلَّمَ فَهُو آتٍ إلَيَّ. لَيْسَ أنَّ أحَداً رَأى الآبَ إلاَّ الكَائِنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ. وَهَذَا هُوَ الَّذِي قَدْ رَأَى الآبَ. وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.
