*And he said to them: Doth a candle come in to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be made manifest: neither was it made secret, but that it may come abroad. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said to them: Take heed what you hear. In what measure you shall mete, it shall be measured to you again, and more shall be given to you. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, that also which he hath shall be taken away from him. Glory be to God forever.

وَكَانَ يَقُولُ لَهُمْ: "هَلْ يُوقَدُ سِرَاجٌ لِيُوْضَعَ تَحْتَ الْمِكْيَالِ أوْ تَحْتَ السَّرِيرِ؟ ألَيْسَ لِكَيْ يُوضَعَ عَلَى الْمَنَارَةِ؟ فَإنَّهُ لَيْسَ شَيءٌ خَفِيٌّ إلاَّ وَيُظْهَرُ، وَلا كَانَ مَكْتُومَاً إلاَّ وَيُعْلَنُ. مَنْ لَهُ أُذُنَانِ لِلسَّمْعِ، فَلْيَسْمَعْ". وَكَانَ يَقُولُ لَهُمْ أيْضاً: "تَأمَّلُوا مَا تَسْمَعُونَ! بِالْكَيْلِ الَّذِي بِهِ تَكِيلُونَ يُكَالُ لَكُمْ وَيُزَادُ لَكُمْ أيهَا السَّامِعُونَ. فَإنَّ مَنْ لَهُ يُعْطَى وَيُزَادُ، وَمَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ فَالَّذِي عِنْدَهُ يُنْزَعُ مِنْهُ". وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*And the scribes who were come down from Jerusalem, said: He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of devils he casteth out devils. And after he had called them together, he said to them in parables: How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan be risen up against himself, he is divided, and cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into the house of a strong man and rob him of his goods, unless he first bind the strong man, and then shall he plunder his house. Glory be to God forever.

وَكَانَ الكَتَبَةُ الَّذِينَ أَتَوْا مِنْ أُورُشَلِيمَ يَقُولُونَ: "إنَّ مَعَهُ بَعْلَزَبُولَ! وَإنَّهُ بِرَئِيسِ الشَّيَاطِينِ يُخْرجُ الشَّيَاطِينَ". فَدَعَاهُمْ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ بِأمْثَالٍ: "كَيْفَ يَقْدِرُ شَيْطَانٌ أنْ يُخْرجَ شَيْطَاناً؟ وَإنْ انْقَسَمَتْ مَمْلَكَةٌ عَلَى ذَاتِهَا لا تَقْدِرُ تِلْكَ الْمَمْلَكَةُ أنْ تَثْبُتَ. وَإنْ انْقَسَمَ بَيْتٌ عَلَى ذَاتِهِ لا يَقْدِرُ ذلِكَ البَيْتُ أنْ يَثْبُتَ. وَإنْ قَامَ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى ذَاتِهِ وَانْقَسَمَ لا يَقْدِرُ أنْ يَثْبُتَ، بَلْ يَكُونُ لَهُ انْقِضَاءٌ. لا يَسْتَطِيعُ أحَدٌ أنْ يَدْخُلَ بَيْتَ الْقَوِيِّ وَيَنْهَبَ أَمْتِعَتَهُ، إنْ لَمْ يَرْبطِ القَوِيَّ أوَّلاً، وَحِينَئِذٍ يَنْهَبُ بَيْتَهُ". وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ; to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons. Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I give thanks to my God in every remembrance of you, Always in all my prayers making supplication for you all, with joy; For your communication in the gospel of Christ from the first day until now. Being confident of this very thing, that he, who hath begun a good work in you, will perfect it unto the day of Christ Jesus. As it is meet for me to think this for you all, for that I have you in my heart; and that in my bands, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my joy. For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your charity may more and more abound in knowledge, and in all understanding: That you may approve the better things, that you may be sincere and without offence unto the day of Christ, Filled with the fruit of justice, through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.

بُولُسُ وَتِيمُوثَاوُسُ عَبْدَا الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، إلى جَمِيعِ القِدِّيسِينَ الَّذِينَ في الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، السَّاكِنينَ في فِيلِبِّي، مَعَ الأسَاقِفَةِ والشَّمَامِسَةِ. نِعْمَةٌ لَكُمْ وَسَلامٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ أبِينا وَرَبِّنا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. أَشْكُرُ إلَهِي عَلَى ذِكْرِكُم الَّذِي أَصْنَعُهُ عَنْ جَمِيعِكُمْ في كُلِّ حِينٍ، في كُلِّ أَدْعِيَتِي لَكُمْ جَمِيعاً بِفَرَحٍ، وَأُقَدِّمُ الطَّلْبَةَ عَنْ مُشَارَكَتِكُمْ إيَّايَ في البِشَارَةِ مُنْذُ اليَوْمِ الأوَّلِ إلى الآنَ. وَقَلْبِي وَاثِقٌ بِهذَا أنَّ الَّذِي قَدْ بَدَأَ فِيكُمْ هُوَ يُكَمِّلُ عَمَلاً صَالِحَاً إلى يَوْمِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. كَمَا أنَّ هذَا هُوَ أمْرٌ حَقٌّ عَليَّ أنْ أفْتَكِرَ فِيهِ عَنْكُمْ جَمِيعاً. لأنكُمْ مَوْضُوعُونَ في قَلْبِي، وَفي قُيُودِي، وَفي احْتجَاجي، وَفي صِدْقِ البِشَارَةِ، إذْ أنْتُمْ جَمِيعاً شُرَكَائِي في النِّعْمَةِ. لأنَّ اللَّهَ شَاهِدٌ لِي كَيْفَ أُحِبُّكُمْ جَمِيعاً بِمَرَاحِمِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. وَهذَا الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِهِ أُصَلِّي، لِكَي تَزْدَادَ مَحَبَّتُكُمْ أيْضاً أَكْثَرَ فَأَكْثَرَ في الْمَعْرِفَةِ وَفي كُلِّ فَهْمٍ، حَتَّى تَمْتَحِنُوا مَا هُوَ الأنْفَعُ، لِكَيْ تَكُونُوا أطْهَاراً وَتَكُونُوا بِغَيرِ عَثْرَةٍ في يَوْمِ الْمَسِيحِ، مُمْتَلِئينَ في ثَمَرِ البِرِّ الَّذِي بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ مَجْداً وَكَرَامَةً للَّهِ. نعمةُ اللَّهِ الآبِ فَلْتَحِلَّ عَلَى أرواحِنا يا آبائي وإخْوَتي. آمين.

2:7-11

*Dearly beloved, I write not a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard. Again a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true both in him and in you; because the darkness is passed, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is no scandal in him. But he that hateth his brother, is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth; because the darkness hath blinded his eyes. Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Amen.

يَا أَحِبَّائِي، لَسْتُ أَكْتُبُ إلَيْكُمْ وَصِيَّةً جَدِيدَةً، بَلْ وَصِيَّةً قَدِيمَةً الَّتي كَانَتْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنَ البَدْءِ. فإنَّ الوَصِيَّةَ العَتِيقَةَ هِيَ الكَلِمَةُ الَّتي سَمِعْتُمُوهَا. أيْضاً وَصِيَّةٌ جَدِيدَةٌ أَكْتُبُها إلَيْكُمْ، الَّتي الْحَقُّ كَائنٌ فيها وَفِيكُمْ: لأنَّ الظُّلْمَةَ قَدْ جَازَتْ، وَالنُّورَ الْحَقِيقِيَّ الآنَ يُضِيءُ. مَنْ يَقُولُ: أنَّهُ في النُّورِ وهُوَ يُبْغِضُ أخَاهُ، فَهُوَ إلى الآنَ في الظُّلْمَةِ. مَنْ يُحِبُّ أخَاهُ يَثْبُتُ في النُّورِ وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ عَثْرَةٌ. وَأمَّا مَنْ يُبْغِضُ أخَاهُ فَهُوَ في الظَّلامِ، وفي الظَّلامِ يَسْلُكُ، ولا يَعْلَمُ أيْنَ يَمْضِي؛ لأنَّ الظُّلْمَةَ قَدْ أَطْمَسَتْ عَيْنَيْهِ. لا تُحِبُّوا العَالَمَ ولا الأشْيَاءَ التي في العَالَمِ، لأنَّ العَالَمَ يمْضِي وَشَهْوَتُهُ مَعَهُ، وأمَّا مَنْ يَعملُ مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ فإنه يَثْبُتُ إلى الأبدِ. آمين.

*And God wrought by the hand of Paul more than common miracles. So that even there were brought from his body to the sick, handkerchiefs and aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the wicked spirits went out of them. Now some also of the Jewish exorcists who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth. And there were certain men, seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, that did this. But the wicked spirit, answering, said to them: Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you? And the man in whom the wicked spirit was, leaping upon them, and mastering them both, prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this became known to all the Jews and the Gentiles that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God. Amen.

وَكَانَ اللَّهُ يَصْنَعُ عَلَى يَدَيْ بُولُسَ قُوَّاتٍ كَثِيرَةً، حَتَّى إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَأخُذُونَ مَنادِيلَ وَخِرَقاً مِنْ عَلَى جَسَدِهِ وَيَضَعُونَهَا عَلَى الْمَرْضَى، فَتَزُولُ عَنْهُمُ الأمْرَاضُ، وَتَخْرُجُ الأرْوَاحُ الشِّرِّيرَةُ. فَابْتَدَأ قَوْمٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ الطَّوَّافِينَ الْمُعَزِّمِينَ أنْ يُسَمُّوا بِاسْمِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ بِهِمِ الأرْوَاحُ الشِّرِّيرَةُ قَائِلِينَ: "نَسْتَحْلِفُكُمْ بيَسُوعَ الَّذِي يَكْرِزُ بِهِ بُولُسُ!" وَكَانَ سَبْعَةُ بَنِينَ لِوَاحدٍ يُدْعَى سَكَاوَا، يَهُودِيٍّ رَئِيسِ كَهَنَةٍ، يَفْعَلُونَ هَذَا. فَأجَابَ الرُّوحُ الشِّرِّيرُ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: "أمَّا يَسُوعُ فَأَنا أَعْرِفُهُ، وَبُولُسُ أَنا أَعْلَمُهُ، وَأمَّا أنْتُمْ فَمَنْ أنْتُمْ؟". فَوَثَبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي كَانَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الشِّرِّيرُ، وَتَسَلَّطَ وَقَوِيَ عَلَيْهمْ، حَتَّى هَرَبُوا مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتِ عُرَاةً مَشْدُوخِي الرُّؤوسِ. وَصَارَ هَذَا ظَاهِراً لِجَمِيعِ الْيَهُودِ وَالْيُونَانِيِّينَ السَّاكِنِينَ في أَفَسُسَ. فَوَقَعَ خَوْفٌ عَلَى جَمِيعِهِمْ، وَكَانَ اسْمُ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ يَتَعَظَّمُ. لَمْ تَزَلْ كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ تَنْمُو وتَكْثُرُ وتَعْتَزُّ وتَثْبُتُ، في بِيعَةِ اللَّهِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ. آمين.

*Amen I say to you, that all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and the blasphemies wherewith they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, shall never have forgiveness, but shall be guilty of an everlasting sin. Because they said: He hath an unclean spirit. And his mother and his brethren came; and standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him; and they say to him: Behold thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And answering them, he said: Who is my mother and my brethren? And looking round about on them who sat about him, he saith: Behold my mother and my brethren. For whosoever shall do the will of God, he is my brother, and my sister, and mother. Glory be to God forever.

الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إنَّ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ يُغْفَرُ لِبَنِي البَشَرِ، الْخَطَايَا وَجَمِيعُ التَّجَادِيفِ الَّتي يُجَدِّفُونَهَا. وَلكِنْ مَنْ يُجَدِّفُ عَلَى الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ فَلاَ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ إلى الأبدِ، بَلْ هُوَ مُسْتَوْجِبٌ دَيْنُونَةً أبدِيَّةً "؛ لأنهُمْ كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ: "إنَّ مَعَهُ رُوحاً نَجِساً". فَجَاءَتْ أُمُّهُ وَإخْوَتُهُ وَوَقَفُوا خَارِجاً وَأَرْسَلُوا إلَيْهِ يَدْعُونَهُ. وَكَانَ الْجَمْعُ جَالِساً حَوْلَهُ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ: "هُوَذَا أُمُّكَ وَإخْوَتُكَ خَارِجاً يَطْلُبُونَكَ". فَأجَابَهُمْ وَقَالَ: "مَنْ أُمِّي وَإخْوَتِي؟ "، ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إلى الْجَالِسِينَ حَوْلَهُ وَقَالَ: "هَا أُمِّي وَإخْوَتِي؛ لأنَّ مَنْ يَصْنَعُ إرَادَةَ اللَّهِ فَهَذَا هُوَ أَخِي وَأُخْتِي وَأُمِّي". وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.
