*Amen I say to you, there hath not risen among them that are born of women a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is the lesser in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent bear it away. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John: And if you will receive it, he is Elias that is to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Glory be to God forever.

*الْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إنهُ لَمْ يَقُمْ أَحَدٌ بَيْنَ الْمَوْلُودِينَ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ يُوحَنَّا الْمَعْمَدَانِ، وَلكِنَّ الأَصْغَرَ في مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَوَاتِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْهُ. وَمِنْ أيامِ يُوحَنَّا الْمَعْمَدَانِ إلى الآنَ مَلَكُوتُ السَّمَوَاتِ يُغْصَبُ، وَالْغَاصِبُونَ يَخْتَطِفُونَهُ؛ لأنَّ جَمِيعَ الأنبِيَاءِ وَالنَّامُوسَ تَنَبَّأُوا إلى يُوحَنَّا. وَإنْ أَرَدْتُمْ أنْ تَقْبَلُوهُ، فَهُوَ إيلِيَّا الآتِي. مَنْ لَهُ أُذُنَانِ لِلسَّمْعِ فَلْيَسْمَعْ». وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*بالغداة استمع صوتي. بالغداة أقف أمامك وتراني. لأنك إله لا تشاء الإثم. ولا يساكنك من يصنع الشر. هلليلويا هَلِّلُويَا.

*Now when John had heard in prison the works of Christ: sending two of his disciples he said to him: Art thou he that art to come, or look we for another? And Jesus making answer said to them: Go and relate to John what you have heard and seen. The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he that shall not be scandalized in me. Glory be to God forever.

*أَمَّا يُوحَنَّا فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ في السِّجْنِ بِأَعْمَالِ الْمَسِيحِ أَرْسَلَ اثْنَيْنِ مِنْ تَلاَمِيذِهِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: «أأَنْتَ هُوَ الآتِي أَمْ نَنْتَظِرُ آخَرَ؟». فَأَجَابَ يَسُوعُ وَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «اذْهَبَا وَأَعْلِمَا يُوحَنَّا بِمَا تَنْظُرَانِ وَتَسْمَعَانِ: الْعُمْيُ يُبْصِرونَ، وَالْعُرْجُ يَمْشُونَ، وَالْبُرْصُ يُطَهَّرونَ، وَالصُّمُّ يَسْمَعُونَ، وَالْمَوْتَى يَقُومُونَ، وَالْمَسَاكِينُ يُبَشَّرُونَ، وطُوبَى لِمَنْ لا يَشُكُّ فيَّ». وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*For I am not ashamed of the gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and to the Greek. For the justice of God is revealed therein, from faith unto faith, as it is written: The just man liveth by faith. The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.

*لأَنِّي لَسْتُ أَسْتَحِي بِإِنْجِيلِ الْمَسِيحِ، لأَنَّهُ قُوَّةُ اللهِ لِلْخَلاَصِ لِكُلِّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ: لِلْيَهُودِيِّ أَوَّلاً ثُمَّ لِلْيُونَانِيِّ. لأَنْ فِيهِ مُعْلَنٌ بِرُّ اللهِ بِإِيمَانٍ، لإِيمَانٍ، كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ:«أَمَّا الْبَارُّ فَبِالإِيمَانِ يَحْيَا». نعمةُ اللَّهِ الآبِ فَلْتَحِلَّ عَلَى أرواحِنا يا آبائي وإخْوَتي. آمين.

2:7-10

*Dearly beloved, I write not a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard. Again a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true both in him and in you; because the darkness is passed, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is no scandal in him. Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Amen.

*أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، لَسْتُ أَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَصِيَّةً جَدِيدَةً، بَلْ وَصِيَّةً قَدِيمَةً كَانَتْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنَ الْبَدْءِ. الْوَصِيَّةُ الْقَدِيمَةُ هِيَ الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي سَمِعْتُمُوهَا مِنَ الْبَدْءِ. أَيْضًا وَصِيَّةً جَدِيدَةً أَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ، مَا هُوَ حَق÷ فِيهِ وَفِيكُمْ: أَنَّ الظُّلْمَةَ قَدْ مَضَتْ، وَالنُّورَ الْحَقِيقِيَّ الآنَ يُضِيءُ. مَنْ قَالَ: إِنَّهُ فِي النُّورِ وَهُوَ يُبْغِضُ أَخَاهُ، فَهُوَ إِلَى الآنَ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ. مَنْ يُحِبُّ أَخَاهُ يَثْبُتُ فِي النُّورِ وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ عَثْرَةٌ. لا تُحِبُّوا العَالَمَ ولا الأشْيَاءَ التي في العَالَمِ، لأنَّ العَالَمَ يمْضِي وَشَهْوَتُهُ مَعَهُ، وأمَّا مَنْ يَعملُ مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ فإنه يَثْبُتُ إلى الأبدِ. آمين.

*Now seeing the constancy of Peter and of John, understanding that they were illiterate and ignorant men, they wondered; and they knew them that they had been with Jesus. Seeing the man also who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But they commanded them to go aside out of the council; and they conferred among themselves, Saying: What shall we do to these men? for indeed a known miracle hath been done by them, to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: it is manifest, and we cannot deny it. But that it may be no farther spread among the people, let us threaten them that they speak no more in this name to any man. And calling them, they charged them not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus. The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God. Amen.

*فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا مُجَاهَرَةَ بُطْرُسَ وَيُوحَنَّا، وَوَجَدُوا أَنَّهُمَا إِنْسَانَانِ عَدِيمَا الْعِلْمِ وَعَامِّيَّانِ، تَعَجَّبُوا. فَعَرَفُوهُمَا أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا مَعَ يَسُوعَ. وَلكِنْ إِذْ نَظَرُوا الإِنْسَانَ الَّذِي شُفِيَ وَاقِفًا مَعَهُمَا، لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ شَيْءٌ يُنَاقِضُونَ بِهِ. فَأَمَرُوهُمَا أَنْ يَخْرُجَا إِلَى خَارِجِ الْمَجْمَعِ، وَتَآمَرُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ قَائِلِينَ: «مَاذَا نَفْعَلُ بِهذَيْنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ؟ لأَنَّهُ ظَاهِرٌ لِجَمِيعِ سُكَّانِ أُورُشَلِيمَ أَنَّ آيَةً مَعْلُومَةً قَدْ جَرَتْ بِأَيْدِيهِمَا، وَلاَ نَقْدِرُ أَنْ نُنْكِرَ. وَلكِنْ لِئَلاَّ تَشِيعَ أَكْثَرَ فِي الشَّعْبِ، لِنُهَدِّدْهُمَا تَهْدِيدًا أَنْ لاَ يُكَلِّمَا أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا بَعْدُ بِهذَا الاسْمِ». فَدَعَوْهُمَا وَأَوْصَوْهُمَا أَنْ لاَ يَنْطِقَا الْبَتَّةَ، وَلاَ يُعَلِّمَا بِاسْمِ يَسُوعَ. لَمْ تَزَلْ كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ تَنْمُو وتَكْثُرُ وتَعْتَزُّ وتَثْبُتُ، في بِيعَةِ اللَّهِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ. آمين.

*من هو الإنسان حتى تذكره. أو ابن الإنسان حتى تفتقده. بالمجد والكرامة توجته. هلليلويا هَلِّلُويَا.

5:39-47

٥ : ٣٩ − ٤٧

*Search the scriptures, for you think in them to have life everlasting; and the same are they that give testimony of me. And you will not come to me that you may have life. I receive glory not from men. But I know you, that you have not the love of God in you. I am come in the name of my Father, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive glory one from another: and the glory which is from God alone, you do not seek? Think not that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one that accuseth you, Moses, in whom you trust. For if you did believe Moses, you would perhaps believe me also; for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words? Glory be to God forever.

*فَتِّشُوا الْكُتُبَ لأَنَّكُمْ تَظُنُّونَ أَنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهَا حَيَاةً أَبَدِيَّةً. وَهِيَ الَّتِي تَشْهَدُ لِي. وَلاَ تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَأْتُوا إِلَيَّ لِتَكُونَ لَكُمْ حَيَاةٌ. «مَجْدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ لَسْتُ أَقْبَلُ، وَلكِنِّي قَدْ عَرَفْتُكُمْ أَنْ لَيْسَتْ لَكُمْ مَحَبَّةُ اللهِ فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ. أَنَا قَدْ أَتَيْتُ بِاسْمِ أَبِي وَلَسْتُمْ تَقْبَلُونَنِي. إِنْ أَتَى آخَرُ بِاسْمِ نَفْسِهِ فَذلِكَ تَقْبَلُونَهُ. كَيْفَ تَقْدِرُونَ أَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَأَنْتُمْ تَقْبَلُونَ مَجْدًا بَعْضُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ، وَالْمَجْدُ الَّذِي مِنَ الإِلهِ الْوَاحِدِ لَسْتُمْ تَطْلُبُونَهُ؟ «لاَ تَظُنُّوا أَنِّي أَشْكُوكُمْ إِلَى الآبِ. يُوجَدُ الَّذِي يَشْكُوكُمْ وَهُوَ مُوسَى، الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ رَجَاؤُكُمْ. لأَنَّكُمْ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تُصَدِّقُونَ مُوسَى لَكُنْتُمْ تُصَدِّقُونَنِي، لأَنَّهُ هُوَ كَتَبَ عَنِّي. فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَسْتُمْ تُصَدِّقُونَ كُتُبَ ذَاكَ، فَكَيْفَ تُصَدِّقُونَ كَلاَمِي؟». وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.
