*And Jesus rising up out of the synagogue, went into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought him for her. And standing over her, he commanded the fever, and it left her. And immediately rising, she ministered to them. And when the sun was down, all they that had any sick with divers diseases, brought them to him. But he laying his hands on every one of them, healed them. And devils went out from many, crying out and saying: Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them he suffered them not to speak, for they knew that he was Christ. And when it was day, going out he went into a desert place, and the multitudes sought him, and came unto him: and they stayed him that he should not depart from them. Glory be to God forever.

ثُمَّ قامَ مِنَ المجْمَعِ ودَخَلَ بَيْتَ سِمْعانَ. وكانَتْ حَماةُ سِمْعانَ بِحُمَّى شَديدةٍ، فَسَألوهُ مِنْ أجْلِها، فَوَقَفَ فَوْقَاً مِنْها وزَجَرَ الحُمَّى فَتَرَكتْها وفى الحالِ قامَتْ وخَدَمَتْهُم. وعِنْدَ غُروبِ الشَّمْسِ كانَ الَّذينَ عِنْدَهُمْ مَرْضَى بأنْواعِ أمْراضٍ كَثيرةٍ يُقَدِّمونَهُم إليْهِ، أمّا هُوَ فَكانَ يَضَعُ يَدَيهِ عَلَى كُلِِّ واحِدٍ فَيشْفيهم، وكانت الشَّياطينُ تَخْرجُ مِنْ كَثيرينَ وهِىَ تَصْرخُ وتَقولُ: أنْتَ هُوَ المسيحُ إبْنُ اللَّهِ. فَكانَ يَنْتَهِرهُم ولا يَدَعهُم يَنْطِقون، لأنَّهُمْ كانوا قَدْ عَرفوهُ أنَّهُ هُوَ المَسيحُ. وَلَمَّا كان النَّهَارُ خَرَجَ وَذَهَبَ إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ قفرٍ، وَكَانَ الْجُمُوعُ يَطْلِّبونه. فَأتوا إِلَيْهِ وَأَمْسَكُوهُ لِئَلاَّ يَنصرف عَنْهُمْ. وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

*And there came to him some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is any resurrection, and they asked him, Saying: Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he leave no children, that his brother should take her to wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. And the next took her to wife, and he also died childless. And the third took her. And in like manner all the seven, and they left no children, and died. Last of all the woman died also. In the resurrection therefore, whose wife of them shall she be? For all the seven had her to wife. And Jesus said to them: The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they that shall be accounted worthy of that world, and of the resurrection from the dead, shall neither be married, nor take wives. Neither can they die any more: for they are equal to the angels, and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead rise again, Moses also shewed, at the bush, when he called the Lord, The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; For he is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live to him. And some of the scribes answering, said to him: Master, thou hast said well. Glory be to God forever.

ثُمَّ جاء قَوْمٌ مِنَ الصَّدُّوقِيِّينَ، الَّذِينَ يَقُلونَ أَنَّهُ ليست قِيَامَة، وَسَأَلُوهُ، قَائِلِيِنَ: «يَامُعَلِّمُ، كَتَبَ لَنَا مُوسَى: إِنْ مَاتَ أخو أَحَد وَلَهُ امْرَأَةٌ، وَهَذا ليسَ لَهُ وَلَدٍ، فَلِيأْخُذُ أَخُوهُ إمْرَأته لِيُقِيمُ نَسْلاً لأَخِيهِ. فَكَانَ سَبْعَةُ إِخْوَةٍ. أَخَذَ الأَوَّلُ امْرَأَةً وَمَاتَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَلَدٍ، فَأَخَذَهَا الثَّانِي وَالثَّالِث، وَهكَذَا إلى السَّابِع. وَلَمْ يَتْرُكُوا وَلَداً وَمَاتُوا. وَأخيراً مَاتَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ أَيْضاً. فَفِي الْقِيَامَةِ، لِمَنْ مِنْهُمْ تَكُونُ زَوْجَةً؟ لأَنَّهَا السَّبْعَةِ اتخذوها زَوْجَةً!» فَقَالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ: «إِنَّ أَبْنَاءُ هذَا الدَّهْرِ يتزَوَّجُونَ وَيتزَوَّجنَ، أمَّا الَّذِينَ استحقوا ذلِكَ الدَّهْرِ وَالْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ، فَلاَ يتزَوَّجُونَ وَلاَ يتزَوَّجنَ، لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَمكن أَنْ يَمُوتُوا بعد، لأَنَّهُمْ يكونون مساوين للْمَلاَئِكَةِ، وَهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ اللهِ، إِذْ هُمْ بنو الْقِيَامَةِ. أَمَّا أَنَّ الْمَوْتَى يَقُومُونَ، فَمُوسَى أَيْضاً قد أشار إلى ذلك في الْعُلَّيْقَةِ إذ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ اَلرَّبُّ إِلهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِلهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَإِلهُ يَعْقُوبَ. لَيْسَ هُوَ إِلهَ أَمْوَاتٍ بَلْ إِلهُ أَحْيَاءٍ، لأَنَّ الْجَمِيعَ سيحيون لهُ». فَأجَابَ قَوْمٌ مِنَ الْكَتَبَةِ وَقَالوا: «يَا مُعَلِّمُ، حَسَنًا قُلْتَ!». وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.

١٣ : ١٠ − ٢١

*We have an altar, whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the holies by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have not here a lasting city, but we seek one that is to come. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise always to God, that is to say, the fruit of lips confessing to his name. And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God's favour is obtained. Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account of your souls; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you. Pray for us. For we trust we have a good conscience, being willing to behave ourselves well in all things. And I beseech you the more to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. And may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the blood of the everlasting testament, Fit you in all goodness, that you may do his will; doing in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen. The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.

وَلَنَا «مَذْبَحٌ» لَيْسَ لِلَّذِينَ يَخْدِمُونَ الْقبة سُلْطَانَ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ. لِأنَّ دم الْحَيَوَانَاتِ الَّذي كان يُقدم عن الخَطَايَا بِرَئِيسِ الْكَهَنَةِ إِلَى قُدس «الأَقْدَاسِ» كانت أَجْسَامُهَا تُحْرَقُ خَارِجَ الْمُعسكرِ. فَلِذلِكَ يَسُوعُ أَيْضاً، لِيُقَدِّسَ الشَّعْبَ بِدَمِهِ الخاص، تَأَلَّمَ خَارِجَ الْبَابِ. فَلْنَخْرُجْ إِذاً إِلَيْهِ خَارِجَ الْمُعسكرِ حَامِلِينَ عَارَهُ. لأَنْهُ لَيْسَ لَنَا هَهُنَا مَدِينَةٌ ثَابتةٌ، لكِنَّنَا نلتمس الْعَتِيدَةَ. وَفيهِ نرفع كُلِّ وقتٍ إلى اللهِ ضَحِيةَ التَّسْبِيحِ، التي هي ثَمَرَة شِفَاهٍ شاكرات لاسمِهِ. أمَّا الإحسان والمشاركة فَلاَ تَنْسوهما، لأَنَّ بِمِثْلِ هذِهِ الضحايا يرتضى اللهُ. أَطِيعُوا مُدبريكُمْ وَاخْضَعُوا لهُمْ، لأَنَّهُمْ يَسْهَرُونَ عن أَنْفُسِكُمْ كَمن يُعْطُونَ عنكم جواباً، لِيَعْمَلُوا هَذا بِفَرَحٍ، لاَ بِتنهيد، فإنَّ هذَا غَيْرُ موافق لَكُمْ. صَلُّوا عَنَّا، فَإِنَّنَا واثقون أَنَّ لَنَا بصيرةً جيدةً في كُلِّ شيءٍ، مؤثرين أَنْ تَتَصَرَّفُوا تصرفاً محموداً فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. وَبالأَكْثَرِ أسألكُمْ أَنْ تَعْمَلُوا هذَا لِكَيْ أُرجَعَ إِلَيْكُمْ سَرِيعَاً. وَإِلهُ السَّلاَمِ الَّذِي أَقَامَ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ رَاعِيَ الْغَنَمِ الْمُعَظَمَ، رَبَّنَا يَسُوعَ، بِدَمِ الْعَهْدِ الأَبَدِيِّ، لِيُكَمِّلْكُمْ فِي كُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ لِتَعملوا مَشِيئَتَهُ، صَانِعَاً بنا الأمر المُرْضِي أَمَامَهُ بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، الَّذِي لَهُ الْمَجْدُ إِلَى أَبَدِ الآبِدِينَ. آمِينَ. نعمةُ اللَّهِ الآبِ فَلْتَحِلَّ عَلَى أرواحِنا يا آبائي وإخْوَتي. آمين.

The Catholic Epistle from 1 Peter

الكاثوليكون من بطرس الأولى

1:25-2:10

١ : ٢٥ − ٢ : ١٠

*But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel hath been preached unto you. We are to lay aside all guile and go to Christ the living stone, and, as being now his people, walk worthily of him, with submission to superiors and patience under sufferings. Wherefore laying away all malice, and all guile, and dissimulations, and envies, and all detractions, As newborn babes, desire the rational milk without guile, that thereby you may grow unto salvation: If so be you have tasted that the Lord is sweet. Unto whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and made honourable by God: Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded. To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner: And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set. But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Who in time past were not a people: but are now the people of God. Who had not obtained mercy; but now have obtained mercy. Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Amen.

«فَأَمَّا كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ فَتَبقى إِلَى الأَبَدِ». وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتي بُشِّرْتُمْ بِهَا. فَاطْرَحُوا عَنْكُمْ إذاً كُلَّ شَرٍّ وَكُلَّ غِشٍّ وَكُلَّ رِيَاءٍ وَكُلَّ حَسَدٍ وَكُلَّ نَمِيمَةٍ، كَأَطْفَالٍ مَوْلُودِينَ الآنَ، اشْتَهُوا اللَّبَنَ العَقْلِيَّ الْعَدِيمَ الْغِشِّ لِكَيْ تَنْمُوا بِهِ لِلخَلاصِ، إنْ كُنْتُمْ قَدْ ذُقْتُمْ أنَّ الرَّبَّ صَالِحٌ. الَّذِي إذْ تَأتونَ إلَيْهِ، الحَجَرِ الحَيِّ المَرْذُولِ مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَلَكِنْ مُخْتَارٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وكَرِيمٌ، كُونُوا أنْتُمْ أيْضاً كَحِجَارَةٍ حَيَّةٍ مَبْنِيِّينَ بَيْتاً رُوحَانِيَّاً، كَهَنُوتاً طَاهِرَاً، لِتَقْدِيمِ ذَبَائِحَ رُوحِيَّةٍ مَقْبُولَةٍ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. لأنهُ مَكْتُوبٌ في الكِتَابِ: "إنِّي هَأنَذا أَضَعُ في صِهْيَوْنَ حَجَراً مُخْتَاراً، رَأسَ زاويَةٍ، كَرِيماً، الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ لاَ يُخْزَى". فَلَكُمْ أنْتُمْ أيهَا الَّذِينَ تُؤْمِنُونَ الكَرَامَةُ، وَأمَّا الَّذِينَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ، "فَالْحَجَرُ الَّذِي رَفَضَهُ البَنَّاؤُونَ، هُوَ قَدْ صَارَ رَأْسَ الزَّاوِيَةِ، وَحَجَرَ عَثْرَةٍ وَصَخْرَةَ شَكٍّ". أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَعْثُرُونَ بِالكَلِمَةِ غَيْرَ مُوافِقِينَ للَّذِي وُضِعُوا لَهُ. أمَّا أنْتُمْ فإنَّكُمْ جِنْسٌ مُخْتَارٌ، وَمَمْلَكَةٌ، وَكَهَنُوتٌ، وَأُمَّةٌ مُقَدَّسَةٌ، وَشَعْبٌ مُبَرَّرٌ، لِكَيْ تُخْبِرُوا بِفَضَائِلِ ذَاكَ الَّذِي دَعَاكُمْ مِنَ الظُّلْمَةِ إلى نُورِهِ الْعَجِيبِ. الَّذِينَ قَبْلاً لَمْ تَكُونُوا شَعْباً، وَأمَّا الآنَ فَقَدْ صِرْتُمْ شَعْبَ اللَّهِ. الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَرْحُومِينَ، وَأمَّا الآنَ فَمَرْحُومُونَ. لا تُحِبُّوا العَالَمَ ولا الأشْيَاءَ التي في العَالَمِ، لأنَّ العَالَمَ يمْضِي وَشَهْوَتُهُ مَعَهُ، وأمَّا مَنْ يَعملُ مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ فإنه يَثْبُتُ إلى الأبدِ. آمين.

*And to shew that he raised him up from the dead, not to return now any more to corruption, he said thus: I will give you the holy things of David faithful. And therefore, in another place also, he saith: Thou shalt not suffer thy holy one to see corruption. For David, when he had served in his generation, according to the will of God, slept: and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption. But he whom God hath raised from the dead, saw no corruption. Be it known therefore to you, men, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is preached to you: and from all the things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. In him every one that believeth, is justified. Beware, therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken in the prophets: Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which you will not believe, if any man shall tell it you. And as they went out, they desired them, that on the next sabbath, they would speak unto them these words. The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God. Amen.

*إِنَّهُ أَقَامَهُ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ، غَيْرَ عَتِيدٍ أَنْ يَعُودَ أَيْضًا إِلَى فَسَادٍ، فَهكَذَا قَالَ: إِنِّي سَأُعْطِيكُمْ مَرَاحِمَ دَاوُدَ الصَّادِقَةَ. وَلِذلِكَ قَالَ أَيْضًا فِي مَزْمُورٍ آخَرَ:لَنْ تَدَعَ قُدُّوسَكَ يَرَى فَسَادًا. لأَنَّ دَاوُدَ بَعْدَ مَا خَدَمَ جِيلَهُ بِمَشُورَةِ اللهِ، رَقَدَ وَانْضَمَّ إِلَى آبَائِهِ، وَرَأَى فَسَادًا. وَأَمَّا الَّذِي أَقَامَهُ اللهُ فَلَمْ يَرَ فَسَادًا. فَلْيَكُنْ مَعْلُومًا عِنْدَكُمْ أَيُّهَا الرِّجَالُ الإِخْوَةُ، أَنَّهُ بِهذَا يُنَادَى لَكُمْ بِغُفْرَانِ الْخَطَايَا، وَبِهذَا يَتَبَرَّرُ كُلُّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا لَمْ تَقْدِرُوا أَنْ تَتَبَرَّرُوا مِنْهُ بِنَامُوسِ مُوسَى. فَانْظُرُوا لِئَلاَّ يَأْتِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَا قِيلَ فِي الأَنْبِيَاءِ: اُنْظُرُوا أَيُّهَا الْمُتَهَاوِنُونَ، وَتَعَجَّبُوا وَاهْلِكُوا! لأَنَّنِي عَمَلاً أَعْمَلُ فِي أَيَّامِكُمْ. عَمَلاً لاَ تُصَدِّقُونَ إِنْ أَخْبَرَكُمْ أَحَدٌ بِهِ». وَبَعْدَمَا خَرَجَ الْيَهُودُ مِنَ الْمَجْمَعِ جَعَلَ الأُمَمُ يَطْلُبُونَ إِلَيْهِمَا أَنْ يُكَلِّمَاهُمْ بِهذَا الْكَلاَمِ فِي السَّبْتِ الْقَادِمِ. لَمْ تَزَلْ كَلِمَةُ الرَّبِّ تَنْمُو وتَكْثُرُ وتَعْتَزُّ وتَثْبُتُ، في بِيعَةِ اللَّهِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ. آمين.

*And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen. And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished. Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you. But they going out, fled from the sepulchre. For a trembling and fear had seized them: and they said nothing to any man; for they were afraid. Glory be to God forever.

وَعِنْدَ فَجْرِ الأَحَدِ (أَوَّلِ الأُسْبُوعِ) أَتَيْنَ إلى الْقَبْرِ، إذْ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ. وَكُنَّ يَقُلْنَ لِبَعْضِهِنَّ: "مَنْ يُدَحْرِجُ لَنَا الْحَجَرَ عَنْ بَابِ الْقَبْرِ؟". فَلَمَّا رَفَعْنَ عُيُونَهُنَّ رَأَيْنَ أَنَّ الْحَجَرَ قَدْ دُحْرِجَ، لأَنهُ كَانَ عَظِيمَاً جِدّاً. وَلَمَّا دَخَلْنَ الْقَبْرَ رَأَيْنَ شَابّاً جَالِساً عَنِ الْيَمِينِ لاَبِساً حُلَّةً بَيْضَاءَ، فَخِفْنَ. أَمَّا هُوَ فَقَالَ لَهُنَّ: "لاَ تَخَفْنَ، أَنْتُنَّ تَطْلُبْنَ يَسُوعَ النَّاصِرِيَّ الْمَصْلُوبَ. قَدْ قَامَ! لَيْسَ هُوَ هَهُنَا. هُوَذَا الْمَوْضِعُ الَّذِي وَضَعُوهُ فِيهِ. لكِنِ اذْهَبْنَ وَقُلْنَ لِتَلاَمِيذِهِ وَلِبُطْرُسَ: إنَّهُ يَسْبِقُكُمْ إلى الْجَلِيلِ. هُنَاكَ تَرَوْنَهُ كَمَا قَالَ لَكُمْ". فَخَرَجْنَ وَهَرَبْنَ مِنَ الْقَبْرِ؛ لأنَّ الرِّعْدَةَ وَالدَّهْشَةَ أَخَذَتَاهُنَّ. وَلَمْ يَقُلْنَ لأَحَدٍ شَيْئاً؛ لأَنهُنَّ كُنَّ خَائِفَاتٍ. وَالْمَجْدُ لِلَّهِ دَائِماً.
