 | ANBA ABRAAM: The Friend of the Poor by: Fr. Tadros Y. Malaty
This book, which is in your hands. is not merely a collection
of stories and narrations about our father, "Anba
Abraam," but it is an attempt to reveal the life he had lived
in his innermost soul.
How pleasant to the soul it is to be free from the bands of
earthly life, enjoying calmly the biographies of the holy fathers,
tasting the sweetness of the work of Christ in the life
of His children, and smelling His essence through their behavior.
Indeed, it is very difficult to express in words the reality
of the secret life, it can be practised but not related, the heart
can feel what the tongue fails to express!
The biography of "Anba Abraam" is a life and fellowship
with the Lord. Its flavor has been diffused in every home in
Egypt, and its fragrance has emanated in all the Eastern
world. Some Western persons loved him, cared to visit him,
and get to know more of his saintly life.
The famous writer "Leeder," heard about him from some
western Catholic people, and hastened with his wife to visit
Egypt, in order to meet the old saint, and the bishop of Fayoum.

 | Born Crucified by: H. G. Bishop Moussa
The book shows a journey to the cross which accompanied our Lord before His infinite birth, on His birth, up until He was taken up to Heaven. It shows the sweetness of the glory which precedes the pain of the Lord’s labour, His ministry followed by the glory of salvation. Rating: 4

 | Contemplation on the Book of Jonah the Prophet by: H. H. Pope Shenouda III
The Book of Jonah the Prophet is full of wonderful spiritual contemplation. Our aim in this book is to tackle purely the spiritual side, and not the theological side. Our aim is to benefit and not to debate. We wish to take from this beautiful Book beneficial lessons for our life. We wish to benefit from God's work and from people's virtues and faults.
How beautiful is the Church's choice! She chose this Book to be the prelude of the forty days of Lent! A beautiful story of repentance and fasting precedes the Great Lent by two weeks, that we may approach the holy forty days with a clean heart attached to the Lord.
It is remarkable that many of those who study the Book of Jonah concentrate on the people of Nineveh and their fast and overlook the mariners and Jonah with his problem. Rating: None

 | Contemplations on the Sermon on the Mount by: H. H. Pope Shenouda III
Some people say that the insights of the "Sermon on the
Mount" are the statutes and the regulations of Christianity
and we add that they are the highest instructions ever known to
man.
With these teachings, Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke to all
people. This proves that perfection can be offered to all human
beings and that everyone has, in his inmost soul, the readiness
to listen to these valuable instructions and highest principles, to
love them and be fully content in them, whatever obstacles meet
his will to listen.
It was fitting that these heavenly words should be
delivered from the top of a high mountain in order that the
audience, during their ascent, might elevate their souls to the
standard with which they would be able to understand such
instructions. Rating: None

 | How to Relate to Children by: H. H. Pope Shenouda III
In this book, we need to talk about the child, his mentality and how to relate to him and gain his love, and to serve him spiritually, socially and culturally.
Because the child is the first cell of the society and the church, if we gain him, we win an entire generation, and if we lose him we lose the future of the generation we live in, and consequent loss of the other generations.
This book is not the outcome of a study of books of psychology and education, but the result of personal experiences with the children in Sunday School or at the numerous meetings at the Church, and with families, kindergartens, clubs, etc... Rating: None

 | Monasticism by:
Egypt has always been the cradle of monastic life, since the founder of monasticism is St Anthony the great, who is from Upper Egypt.
In Christian life, the effect of monasticism in relation to the church is like the role of the heart in relation to the body. It preserves life.
My dear reader, come with me and enter a wonderful, very colourful garden full of different flowers, of different colours, fragances and shapes. This garden is monastic life with all its magnificent saints.
Great work has been done by Mark Mikhael, a blessed young man from the Coptic Orthodox Church in Melbourne, Australia.
May the blessings of this angelic monastic life, and of our beloved saints and the prayers of our honourable Patriarch Pope Shenouda III be with us all. Rating: None

 | O Lord, Do not Rebuke Me in Your Anger by: H. H. Pope Shenouda III
This book is a part of the contemplations in the Psalms, some of which we have
published. It is a Psalm from the Psalms of the Morning Prayer. It is also a prayer in the Prayer of the Veil and in the First service of the Midnight Prayer. It is one of the most important Psalms of repentance. It is a type in which there is a mixture of tears and repentance with Divine comfort, and feeling the answer. Therefore it finishes with happiness and rejoicing. It is a Psalm that we with everyone can learn and pray with it. Rating: None

 | The Coptic morning service for the Lord's day by: John, Marquis of Bute
The object of the present little book is to provide English speaking
travellers in Egypt with a means of following intelligently
the Sunday morning service of the native Christians. The writer
hopes that, at the same time, it may be of some interest to those
who occupy themselves with philology or Liturgiology.
The Coptic Liturgies were translated into Latin long ago by
Renaudot, whose translation has been translated into English by
Dr. Neale, and reprinted by Mr. Hammond; and fresh translations
from the original language have been made by Mr. Malan.
But these works were executed without familiarity with the present
use, being based entirely upon medireval MSS., which seem
moreover to contain hardly anything but the parts read by
the Priest. The reader may easily convince himself by comparing
them with the form of the service here placed before
him, how very little they would enable him to follow the actual
usage. Rating: None

 | The Spirituality of Fasting by: H. H. Pope Shenouda III
Fasting is an important topic for all, as almost all nations and religions practice some form of fasting. Fasting was even established in man's doctrine before people became different nations. Fasting even goes back to the time of Adam and Eve.
It is not the intention of this book to tackle the subject of fasting from a theoretical point of view but for spiritual benefit.
We aim to discuss the spiritual concepts of fasting and the appropriate conduct during such a period, for our concern is your spiritual growth in God's love. Rating: None
